Honey is an IT innovation company specifically focused on identifying, acquiring and developing technologies that harness the global converging media marketplace.

The invention behind Honey's first technology, Vismail was created by Richard Bednall, who has a unique background in TV/video recording and production, which combined with his computing skills led him to invent Vismail in response to a client need. He registered a patent application for the invention in September 2002. He then took the idea to Gavin and Karen Williams, who were running a successful direct marketing company called Carelink. They initially tested the idea with some of their clients and discovered an appetite for the product.

Between the three of them they agreed to form Honey (GB) Plc at the end of 2002, to develop and market Vismail. Richard assigned his invention to the company, whilst Gavin and Karen provided financial, managerial and sales resources to the business.

Honey started trading in November 2003 since then they have been developing solutions, creating a scalable delivery platform and developing global channels and routes to market.

Currently Honey's technology is now represented on every continent with representatives in USA, Canada, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, The Middle East, UK and mainland Europe.
